About the job:

Flat2VR Studios is looking for highly skilled Senior 3D Artist to join our creative team and lead the visual development of immersive experiences within the Unity game engine. You’ll play a key role in crafting high-quality 3D assets, environments, and characters that elevate the visual fidelity and performance of our projects.

While VR experience is highly preferred, we value passion for immersive gaming and a strong foundation in game development.

This is a fully remote job; we encourage anyone in the EU or UK to apply.

Some of the work you would be doing:

  • Design, model, and texture high-quality 3D assets (characters, environments, props) for use within Unity.

  • Optimize assets for real-time performance while maintaining visual integrity.

  • Integrate 3D assets into Unity, ensuring proper lighting, shaders, materials, and LODs.

  • Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and other artists to maintain consistency and meet artistic direction.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to visual fidelity, performance, and asset implementation in Unity.

  • Stay current with industry trends and new technologies to push the visual boundaries of our projects.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with shader creation or visual scripting in Unity.

  • Background in lighting environments  and set dressing.

  • Background in character creation,  animation or rigging.

  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, Perforce).

  • Extensive Unreal Engine knowledge.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a 3D artist in the gaming industry.

  • Proven expertise in Unity, including asset pipeline, lighting, materials, and optimization.

  • Strong experience with lighting and set dressing to create mood, atmosphere, and visually compelling scenes within Unity.

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).

  • Strong understanding of PBR workflows, UV mapping, and baking techniques.

  • A compelling portfolio showcasing high-quality 3D work.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
